Staff Eng.
NEXCOM pursuit effort via IR&D B&P. Next Generation Air Traffic Control
Communications System for the FAA. Duties: investigate & document existing
ATC communications system via extensive customer contact via site visits,
face-to-face discussions, document research, etc. Identify new system
reqs, assist in definition of new system concepts & solutions. Transition
planning & frequency mgt are especially significant. Learn present frequency
plan. Assist present & future staff with system engg analysis, reviews,
& simulations & modeling. Play a principal role in the NEXCOM Bid & Proposal.
required: BSEE/BSCS required, MS preferred. 12 years engg and/or ATC domain
experience required. Demonstrated ability to independently & effectively
represent HDC to a wide range of customer personnel. 5+yrs radio & communication
system experience reqd (specific ATC or FAA knowledge may suffice in place
of this, especially if communications related). Ground system communications
via networked landlines, BIT, & Remote Maintenance Monitoring are key

role upon contract award. This may be in program mgt., system engg, or
software engg, depending upon program needs & the interests & skills of
the candidates. Excellent oral & written communications skills mandatory.

STAFF SCIENTIST
(mid 70- mid 90K) Will lead RF development efforts for the Small Unit
Operations Situation Awareness System (SUO/SAS). This new $46.5 million
project will create advance situation awareness and information technology
that automatically lets the soldier know where he/she is, where his/her
buddies are and where enemy threats exist. This award continues ITT Industries
Aerospace/Communications Division's leadership in robust multimedia networking
that brings integrated voice, date and full-motion video to the battlefield.
Will also be involved in continued development work on the BOWMAN radio
project, a British tactical mobile communication system, and will be responsible
for review of technical content of RF/Microwave designs of ongoing programs
involving two other major projects at A/CD: Alpha, a special purpose M/W
receiver system, and ASIP, the Advanced SINCGARS Improvement Program,
the U.S. Army's primary tactical mobile radio. MSEE preferred and at least
14 years of related engineering experience involving RF/Microwave circuit
design and development.
SENIOR STAFF ENGINEER (low 60's-hi 70s) Will be responsible for design
and development of power supply electronics for tactical radios and weather
instruments. Will lead a team of up to ten engineers, technicians and
support personnel in the design and development of power supply electronics.
BSEE required, MSEE preferred, Ph.D. in EE desired. Twelve or more years
experience in low voltage (<200V) power supply design. Adept at requirements
analysis, design analysis and state of the art expertise for high efficiency
robust power supplies for portable, ground and space applications.
***SOFTWARE ENGINEERING*** STAFF SCIENTIST-SOFTWARE
(mid 70's-mis 90s) Will be responsible for design and architectural development
of software related products, and perform up-front systems and software
architecture/design activity for new products. BS, MS preferred in EE
or Computer Science. Experience includes: 12-15 years in Systems and S/W
Engineering in architectural design for communications systems; real-time
embedded software design and development; applications in network and
connections oriented protocols; government and space systems applications;
and structured and object-oriented methods. Knowledge of radio systems
and S/W development, and 6-8 years of technical/task leadership is highly
desired. Must be able to provide technology leadership and take the lead
in new radio project planning.
***SYSTEMS HARDWARE ARCHITECTURE*** STAFF ENGINEER
(low 60's-mid 70s) Develop electrical system architectures (with emphasis
on digital subsystems) meeting customer requirements for proposals. Must
be able to perform specification generation for electrical systems and
modules and execute architecture trades studies and complex hardware/software
partitioning trades. Also, must have knowledge of ASIC, FPGA, complex
software development processes/capabilities and mechanical packaging of
electronics to meet environmental requirements. A minimum of ten to twelve
years' experience in Electrical Engineering with a BSEE, MSEE preferred,
and experience with Military Communications and/or Aerospace Applications.
Weather info Systems Engineer: In the re-engineering of architecture
for a strategic weather center, provide systems engg, aid migration/consolidation
of the company's team & the Center (AF). Requires BS/CS. EE or related
(advanced degree or BS/Meterology dewirable); 5 years systems technology
experience; background in IT for DBMS, operating systems ORB & GUI. Understanding
of meteorological science a plus. At least BS, +5 yrs, sw bgd reqd (systems
rather than components), w/ CS bgd, info tech (On Job Training is OK),
client/server sys sw engg. Weather bgd will be a plus, client are the
weather folks on base, who do all weather AF forecasting and beyong that
(other services). Meteorology will also work, if the candidate has IT
bgd. Re-architecting of all weather systems, migration strategy, integration,
direct liaison w/customer & mgt (hi places). sal range: 85K-90K range.
Depending on exp., degree, etc. A junior person will be less. Prefer advanced
clearance, clearable to TS, SC will be terrific.
Information Systems Engineer (ISYSEG)
salary mid range around 70K. Supervisor: Dave Poutre (Project Lead), Tom
Price (Task Lead) Description: Perform data requirements analysis, modeling,
and design of enterprise relational database and related infrastructure
& application sw. Must also have a broad multidisciplinary background
with emphasis on client/server system architectures & development of application
prototypes for proof-of-concept analyses. Knowledge of RDBMSs (Oracle,
Sybase), UNIX, Windws (95 & NT), networking client/server technology a
must. Experience on all life cycle phases (concept develpoment, requirements,
design, development, testing, integration, deployment, O&M) in a military
Command and control (C2) environment highly desirable. Experience with
data modeling tools (i.e. ERwin/ERX) a plus. Duties also include development
of technology plans and road maps for migration of legacy C2 systems.
Will conduct requirements analysis, prepare task definitions for application
development, and develop project schedules with USSTRATCOM Program Management
for system development and testing. Requires good organizational, communication,
and presentation skills. Successful candidate will work directly with
sponsor and users in team setting, in the sponsor's environment.
BSEE, BSCS, BS Physics, or related field; MS preferred. 5-7 years of
experience in information system design, database design, & systems integration
of COTS and GOTS, parcitularly in an operational environment. The candidate
selected will be subject to a serucity investigation and must meet eligibility
requirements for an advanced (TS+) clearance.
General Systems Engineer, Lead or Senior Supervisor
Description: Provide systems engineering in support of company's responsibility
for the development and management of an architecture for the re-engineering
of AF Weather Agencys Strategic Center. The center is composed of approximately
twenty information systems and the candidate must support company's responsibility
for the migration and consolidation of these systems into a single integrated
system. The candidate must also function as a liaison between the activities
at the site, and company's HQ AF Weather systems engineering team. The
candidate must have experience in information technologies in the area
of DBMS, Operating Systems, ORB and GUI. Requires excellent written and
oral skills and knowledge of meteorological science is desirable.
Education/Experience Required: B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
or related field with 5 years of experience in information systems technology.
An advanced degree in the above and a degree in meteorology are pluses.
